What virtual worlds does BEAT support?
Any virtual world that supports parcel media or MOAP with WebM video playback — including all OpenSimulator-based grids and Second Life. If your viewer can play a .webm URL, BEAT works.
Does BEAT work with Firestorm Viewer?
Yes. Firestorm is the recommended viewer. Enable streaming media in Preferences → Sound & Media.
Does BEAT capture or record my DJ's audio?
No. BEAT connects to your DJ's existing public stream URL — the same URL your listeners use. No audio is captured, stored, or retransmitted.
Can I use BEAT on multiple parcels simultaneously?
Yes, as long as you have enough channels on your plan. Each channel has its own unique stream URL.
What stream formats does BEAT support?
Icecast and Shoutcast streams in MP3 or AAC format. The stream must be publicly accessible. Azuracast works perfectly.
What is the output format?
Live WebM video stream (.webm). Supported natively by OpenSimulator and modern browsers.
What resolution does BEAT output?
Free: 480p — Solo: 720p — Venue S & M: 1080p — Enterprise: 1080p+

What is the Media Handler Prim?
A free pre-scripted in-world object that controls parcel media and synchronizes your BEAT stream across all viewers on the parcel simultaneously. Available free on the Neverworld Grid Marketplace.
What is MOAP?
Media On A Prim — assigns a media URL directly to a prim face like a TV. Simple but no viewer sync. Each person controls their own playback.
Why does my media texture need to be unique?
Because OpenSimulator streams video to every object on the parcel sharing the designated media texture. A unique texture gives you precise control over which objects become screens.
Can I use the script in my own object instead of the pre-made prim?
Yes! Download the LSL script from onbeat.video and place it in any object you own.
